Security Guards provide a customer service-focused approach to safety and security as members of the campus community. Helping others is the Security guard's contribution to the College. Additionally, Security Guards provide a visible presence, active protection, and security to the College, buildings, grounds, employees, students, and visitors.
Guards patrol campus and maintain order through the application and enforcement of applicable laws, rules, orders, and ordinances where applicable. Security Guards assist local first responder agencies in their performance of routine and emergency operations on campus. Campus Security Officers document actions and observations in logs, reports, and other methods of communication.
This is a part-time, hourly position, working a variety of shifts, covering shifts at various times across 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Work days and hours may vary based on the needs of the department. Temporary positions may only work 1050 hours or 12 consecutive months from the date of hire, whichever comes first (WAC ). The exact schedule will be worked out with the candidate selected for hire.
