Shop Lead

Papé Machinery Inc., a leading equipment dealer in agricultural, construction, forestry, and landscaping machinery, is seeking a Shop Lead to oversee daily operations in our service shop. In this on-site role, you'll coordinate technicians, assign and prioritize work orders, and ensure high-quality repairs that meet safety and manufacturer standards. You'll mentor techs, support diagnostics on complex equipment, collaborate closely with parts and service teams, and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient shop.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shop operations for equipment service and repair
• Assign and prioritize work orders for technicians and support staff
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and manufacturer standards
• Coordinate scheduling of equipment, parts, and resources to meet deadlines
• Train, mentor, and support technicians in diagnostics and repair procedures
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and company standards
• Collaborate with service managers and parts teams to optimize workflow
• Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and proper tool/equipment use
• Communicate with customers and internal teams on job status and timelines
• Track productivity metrics and assist with continuous improvement efforts
