Crossroads Elementary School is looking for a motivated, positive individual to provide specialized services for CES in relation to parents and/or the community. This role will focus on coordinating volunteers and supporting school staff through recruiting and training school volunteers.

Monitor students and assure proper conduct in the lunchroom; maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.

Hours: 3 hours per day

Contract Length: 177 days per year

• 170 school days
• 7 planning days

Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date.

Employment Status: Part‑time (not eligible for benefits)

Employment Type: 10‑month employee on the classified pay schedule

• Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
• Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Salary for the 2026‑2027 school year will be based on Board approved salary schedule.

• Starting Pay (Step
  0): $15.98/hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10): $17.26/hour

We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small‑group instruction is strongly desired.

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full‑time, verified experience.

• The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll

Note:

While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year‑long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula:
Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate. Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay.
