We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Logistics Coordinator to support daily shipping, transportation, and inventory activities in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. This role coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, prepares shipping and invoicing documentation, partners with carriers and brokers, supports customer communication, and helps maintain inventory accuracy and operational flow. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities, solve problems quickly, and work effectively across warehouse, customer service, and transportation functions.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments, including parcel, expedited, and specialty orders.
- Schedule freight pickups and trailer movements, working directly with carriers, brokers, dispatch personnel, and drivers to ensure on-time execution.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation such as bills of lading, waybills, invoices, proof-of-delivery files, and other required shipment records.
- Complete goods issue and invoicing‑related transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review orders for shipment priority, packaging requirements, and transportation mode selection to support customer commitments and efficient distribution.
- Coordinate customer communication regarding shipment status, transportation questions, and order‑related issues, including direct contact with specialized or high‑touch customers when needed.
- Approve or support freight‑rate decisions and help monitor transportation costs for domestic and export shipments.
- Maintain inventory integrity through reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, cycle count support, and correction of transactional errors.
- Support accurate packing, labeling, pick/pack execution, and specialty‑order handling, including discrete or mil-spec requirements where applicable.
- Create or maintain export‑related documentation and coordinate customs paperwork when international shipments require it.
- Investigate shipment issues, delays, damage claims, and proof-of-delivery requests, then coordinate corrective actions with internal and external partners.
- Assist with package‑change approvals, job card error corrections, and other shipping or inventory corrections needed to support order accuracy.
- Perform or support loading, unloading, and trailer movement activities when operationally required.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in alignment with 5-S and site safety expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, cross‑functional problem solving, and support of departmental goals.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, transportation coordination, warehouse operations, or supply chain support.
- Very strong computer and data‑entry skills, including experience with ERP or shipping systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal teams, customers, carriers, and brokers.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Experience with international shipping, export documents, or customs‑related paperwork.
- Working knowledge of SAP, TMS, WMS, or similar logistics systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with inventory reconciliation, freight issue resolution, and shipment documentation control.
- Shipment scheduling and transportation coordination.
- Documentation accuracy and invoice/BOL processing.
- Inventory control and discrepancy resolution.
- Customer service and cross‑functional communication.
- Problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.
- Very proficient with Microsoft Excel and other office products.
- Role can be high stress. Requires time in both office and warehouse settings and can involve standing, walking, lifting, and loading/unloading.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear PPE for full day (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe shoes).
- First shift position: 6:45 am to 3:00 pm Monday‑Friday, with ability to work overtime as needed (including up to 4 hours and weekends).
