Streets Foreman

The essential function of the Streets Foreman is to perform project supervision for the Public Works' Streets Department, overseeing work crews, planning, scheduling manpower/materials/equipment, and other necessary project management elements on City streets and right-of-ways. This includes participation on maintenance crews and the performance of related work as required and assigned.

Knowledge of:

• State and federal codes and regulations, methods, materials, procedures, and standard practices of street and right-of-way construction and maintenance
• Methods, materials, procedures, and standard practices of street repair, including concrete and asphalt repair, removal, and replacement
• Quality assurance measures related to job site inspection
• Scheduling of resources and site planning for street repair, maintenance, construction, and markings as required
• Safe and sound practices for heavy/construction equipment and power tools

Ability to:

• Establish project priorities and assign work orders, materials, staff, equipment, and other resources for timely completion of tasks
• Operate various types of general, heavy, and special equipment applicable to street/road maintenance
• Train employees in the use of general/special equipment, tools, vehicles required for the completion of work assignments
• Perform all maintenance, construction, repair, service, and pavement marking tasks including: forming, placement, and finishing concrete and asphalt

All candidates are required to pass the following to be considered for the above position:
Ability to pass a background check, driving record, and pre-employment drug/alcohol test. Possession of a driver's license issued by the State of Idaho. Possession of a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement issued by the State of Idaho.
