Personal Financial Counselor- Mountain Home, ID

Responsibilities

• Provide full‑breadth personal financial counseling to service members and families at military installations
• Conduct one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals to external resources
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials
• Coordinate, publicize, and conduct a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle
• Provide virtual counseling or other electronic communications (web‑based, secure online chat, video)
• Handle duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol
• Communicate with leadership; participate in supervision, in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and contract activities
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience considered)
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract)
• Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
• Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
• Hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
• Valid driver’s license in the applicable state (preferred)
