Position: Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in Mountain Home, ID

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Location: Mountain Home,
Agency: Concentric Healthcare Staffing
Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Contract, Days, 12‑Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Manage common diagnoses including pneumonia, CHF, COPD, post‑surgical patients (hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy), neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, asthma exacerbations, and SWING bed/rehab patients.
  • Administer and monitor set‑rate and occasionally titratable drips including insulin and antibiotics.
  • Monitor telemetry using unit monitoring systems; ability to read cardiac strips is preferred.
  • Operate and oversee respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high‑flow oxygen (RT available for setup and monitoring; no ventilator management required).
  • May serve in a charge nurse or preceptor role on occasion; float support to other units may be required.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 5 weekend shifts per 6‑week scheduling period; holiday availability may be required based on unit need.
  • No on‑call or standby requirement.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips.
  • Prior experience in a charge nurse or preceptor capacity.
  • Familiarity with Philips or Spacelab patient monitoring systems.
