This position involves the performance and record keeping for quality control tests that will require the successful applicant to have the ability to perform and understand aggregate gradations, specific gravities, moisture testing at the plant and in the lab, concrete field testing for air, slump, unit weight and casting concrete test specimens, customer interaction to help with service coordination and help to resolve any quality issues that could arise.

Quality Control Technician

• Test concrete and aggregate products for quality and conformance to specifications.
• Have basic materials understanding for rock, sand, cement, flyash and chemical admixtures.
• Maintain basic material record keeping.
• Follow verbal and written instruction.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, batch plant operations, drivers and QC personnel.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights, swings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Make decisions quickly and effectively.
• Pass the MSHA Safety course.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years quality control experience preferred.
• ACI Level 1 Certification preferred.
• ACI Strength Testing Technician preferred.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; fluently speak and write English.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook; minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.

• ACI Level 1 certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Driver's license and clean driving record.

• Spanish language is a plus.
• Class B CDL not required but helpful.
