Staff Accountant

Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and financial reporting processes using Microsoft Dynamics 365. This position ensures the accuracy of financial data, maintains general ledger activities, and contributes to both month-end and year-end close. The Staff Accountant collaborates with multiple departments to deliver timely financial information and maintains compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries in Microsoft Dynamics for routine and non-routine financial transactions.

+ Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial accounts within Dynamics.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reports.

+ Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

+ Maintain and update fixed asset registers and support depreciation calculations.

+ Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation from Microsoft Dynamics.

+ Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.

+ Collaborate with other finance team members on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

+ Uphold internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 2+ years of accounting experience; hands-on Microsoft Dynamics experience is strongly preferred.

+ Thorough understanding of accounting principles and best practices.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial tools.

+ Attention to detail, strong organizational, and problem-solving skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Experience supporting audits and performing account reconciliations.
