Job Title:
Senior Real Estate Accountant
Location:
Mountain View, CA (In-Office)
Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 + discretionary bonus (1099 / Pay‑for‑Performance)

- Prepare and manage balance sheets and income statements across multiple assets.
- Manage AP/AR operations for multiple portfolio properties.
- Oversee construction projects by projecting costs and tracking budgets against actual costs.
- Manage purchase and rehab loans, and perform lender draw requests for construction projects.
- Collaborate directly with Asset Managers on financial forecasts and cash‑flow analyses.
- Support the team with investor equity administration and preferred interest distributions.
- Create, examine, and interpret complex accounting records across multiple legal entities.
- Prepare comprehensive year‑end packages for tax preparers and assist with tax compliance and critical financial reporting requirements.
- Manage business licenses, property taxes, and insurance renewals.
- Continuously evaluate financial processes to eliminate inefficiencies and optimize workflows.
- Effectively communicate accounting issues and appropriately escalate them to leadership.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance. - Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of post‑university real‑estate accounting experience. - Systems:
Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (Voyager 8 preferred), Excel, and Quick Books. - Technical
Skills:
Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger management, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, AP/AR, job costing, and FASB rules. - Mindset:
Business‑oriented and solution‑driven professional who challenges the status quo to drive operational efficiency. - Communication:
Articulate and comfortable interfacing with strategic external partners, including legal, tax, investment, and banking professionals. - Environment:
Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative, dynamic team.
- MBA or active pursuit of a CPA license.
- California Real Estate License.
- RPA or CPM professional designations.
- Direct accounting experience with industrial, multi‑tenant commercial, or multifamily asset management.
- Experience handling job costing and financial tracking for mixed‑use or single‑family residential construction projects.
