The firm is seeking a talented Senior Property Accountan
t to join their growing accounting team. As a key senior contributor, you'll handle complex accounting for property, fund, and partnership entities, review junior staff work, drive technical accuracy, and support our Controller and Assistant Controller in delivering timely, high-quality financial reporting.
- Lead monthly GAAP and tax-basis closes for sophisticated property, fund, and partnership structure
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, estimates, and close packages prepared by Accountant I/II team member
- Prepare and analyze internal financial reports, variance explanations, and management insight
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned audits, coordinate directly with external auditors
- Research and apply U.S. GAAP to complex/non-routine transactions, support adoption of new standards and firm policices
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedure documentation
- Mentor and coach junior accountants; contribute to process improvements for greater efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Property Management, Lease Administration, Treasury, and Investor Relation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fi
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (real estate, fund, or partnership accounting strongly preferr
- Public accounting background is a plus
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Proven ability to review work, provide constructive feedback, and mentor other
- CPA (or progress toward CPA) prefer
