HII - Mission Technologies is seeking an Acquisition and Business/Financial Management Specialist in either the Mountain View, CA area or National Capital Region who will aid the management of acquisition/finance related matters for the leading innovation organization in the DoD. DoD Financial and Business Process experience required with experience in DoD Financial Systems of Record, especially as they pertain to the acquisition/contracting/financial operations inside the DoD innovation ecosystem.

This candidate will need strong judgement, an analytical mindset, customer focused, sound collaboration skills, a pragmatic approach to problems-solving, and the ability to thrive in an oftentimes ambiguous, entrepreneurial environment. The position can be based in Mountain View, CA or National Capital Region with possible, albeit infrequent, expected travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist agency in daily management of acquisition, financial and business matters to include Statement of Work, Purchase Requests, funding transfers, modifications, purchase orders and purchase requests, resource management.
  • Working with and advising program managers on procurement policies, regulations, and procedures that result in smooth operation and delivery of commercial technology to the warfighter.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the DoD acquisition, business, and financial DoD best practices, following all applicable procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Communicating orally to brief all customers on proposed acquisition, business, and financial processes.
  • Communicating in writing, independently preparing pre and post business clearances for every acquisition to document the contract file.
  • Acting as a business adviser and/or representative providing business advice both internal and external to DIU.
What you need to have
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years’ experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • At least 5 years of business operations and finance experience.
  • Must be able to work a normal 40-hour work week during the core work hours of 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Some flexibility is available on core work hours.
  • Knowledge of the DoD Innovation ecosystem, DoD financial systems, CRM knowledge (i.e. Salesforce) and Microsoft suite of products is required.
  • Experience in financial operations and innovative DoD orgs in the Federal Government is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. (Job entails supporting multiple purchasing actions in a fast-paced environment.)
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Interaction with procurement office management. Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are necessary.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check for facility access is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to balance out-of-box innovation mindset and government procedures across functions.
