Pay Rate: $50/hour (local candidates)

Schedule: 33 Hours per Week

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Contract Length: 10 Months

As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, helping them access their educational environment and reach their full potential. You will partner with teachers, families, and related service providers to develop individualized strategies that foster academic, social, and life‑skills success.

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
• Conduct assessments and contribute to educational planning
• Develop and implement individualized educational goals and accommodations
• Teach compensatory skills, assistive technology, and independent living strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation
• Support students in accessing curriculum and classroom activities

• Valid Teaching Credential with Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) authorization/certification
• Experience working with school‑aged students preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Passion for helping students build confidence, independence, and lifelong success

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
• One year experience as a teacher for the visually impaired preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x‑ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
