OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer (Automotive) to support the design and development of Infotainment and Telematics hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive mechanical engineering, hands-on experience in product design, analysis, and manufacturing processes, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design and development of automotive infotainment and telematics modules.
- Perform detailed mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, and 2D drawing release.
- Conduct FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up to ensure design robustness.
- Support tooling development, prototype builds, and production release.
- Work with manufacturing teams on aluminum die casting, sheet metal, and plastic enclosures.
- Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Coordinate with electrical, hardware, and system engineering teams.
- Manage suppliers, review tooling, and support validation and testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards, reliability, and quality requirements.
- Support failure analysis, root cause investigations, and design improvements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of automotive mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2 years in Infotainment and/or Telematics.
- Strong experience in mechanical design, FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up.
- Hands-on knowledge of tooling, aluminum die casting, and sheet metal design.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, NX, Creo, or Solid Works).
- Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with automotive validation, environmental testing, and vibration/shock analysis.
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP processes.
- Prior experience supporting mass production programs.
