R&D Technician

Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices such as vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.

We are looking for an R&D Electronic Technician to join us on a 6‑month contract to support manufacturing operations for testing, debugging, and assembling printed circuit boards. The position includes rework on PCBA’s, testing and debugging PCB circuits, assembling PCB into instruments with optoelectronics/mechanical/software/firmware integration, loading software/firmware and running prescribed tests, and performing other work‑related duties assigned by a supervisor.

• Proficient in soldering, repairing and replacing components at board level.
• Handle ESD‑sensitive components.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective product.
• Assist engineering in building and testing prototypes.
• Collect and analyze data as needed.
• Perform other work‑related activities as assigned.
• Test product performance.

• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in electronics from a two‑year college or technical school, equivalent military electronics school(s) and at least two years of related experience and/or training.
• Extensive electronic bench testing experience with PCB boards down to the component level using oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
• Ability to read a variety of electronic schematics, diagrams, and detailed electronic circuit procedure documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently and work well with others.
• Strong communication and computer skills, proactive, self‑starter, great attention to detail, and organized.
• Good understanding of engineering principles.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and process procedures.
• Ability to recommend and implement improvements.
• Excellent team player with exceptional communication skills, documentation capability, and work ethic.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated safety consciousness and commitment to addressing safety or process concerns.

• Experience in a start‑up environment.
• Wire harness experience.
