We are looking for a hands on, multi-faceted Senior to Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. You will be part of the Powertrain and Propulsion R&D team that evaluates and tests novel powertrain technologies for Wisk aircraft.
Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View location.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and test mechanical and electromechanical components and structures
- Create, run, and post-process basic stress and thermal analysis simulations
- Create and release 2D mechanical design drawings
- Perform analysis using first principles techniques to validate mechanical and thermal aspects of the design
- Make design considerations for mass optimization, structural integrity, thermal considerations, and risk mitigation
- Manage and track CGs and weights for components installed on an aircraft
- BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years of testing experience
- Advanced understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, structural mechanics, etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Siemens NX (preferred), Solid Works, etc.
- Familiarity with Matlab or Python for data regression
- Familiarity with drafting standards, including GD&T, and ability to interpret or create engineering drawings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay range the company expects to pay: $148,000 - $186,000 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job‑related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
