Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Electrical Assembly Technician supports the build, integration, and testing of advanced hydrogen and power electronic systems, including electrolyzers, fuel cell systems, and associated balance-of-plant equipment. This role focuses on high-quality electrical assembly, high-voltage wiring, and system-level integration in both prototype and early production environments.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and wire electrical systems for hydrogen platforms, including electrolyzers, fuel cells, power converters, and control panels
- Perform high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) wiring, routing, termination, shielding, and grounding
- Build and integrate power electronics components such as rectifiers, inverters, DC/DC converters, and distribution systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Execute cable harness fabrication, crimping, lugging, shielding to industrial standards
- Support system integration activities, including interfacing with sensors, actuators, valves, and safety interlocks
- Conduct electrical continuity checks, insulation resistance (megger) testing, and functional validation
- Assist with bring-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of hydrogen and power systems
- Identify and resolve wiring issues, grounding problems, and electrical faults in collaboration with engineering teams
- Follow strict safety protocols related to high voltage, hydrogen handling, and hazardous environments
- Document assembly processes, test results, and deviations; support continuous improvement efforts
- Support prototype builds, design iterations, and rapid engineering changes
- Diploma / ITI / Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
- 2+ years of experience in electrical assembly, preferably in industrial, energy, or power electronics environments
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams
- Experience with cable harnessing, crimping, and industrial connectors
- Familiarity with multimeters, insulation testers (megger), and basic diagnostic tools
- Understanding of electrical safety practices, especially around high-voltage systems
- Experience with hydrogen systems (electrolyzers, fuel cells, gas handling systems) or similar energy systems
- Hands‑on experience with power electronics (rectifiers, inverters, high-current DC systems)
- Knowledge of grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC best practices
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620)
- Experience in startup, R&D, or low-volume/high-mix production environments
- Exposure to PLC wiring, instrumentation, and industrial control systems
- High-voltage and low-voltage electrical assembly
- Cable harness fabrication and routing
- Electrical testing and troubleshooting
- System-level thinking (integration of electrical + mechanical + process systems)
- Safety awareness in hazardous environments
- Engineering lab, pilot line, or manufacturing environment
- Work around high-voltage equipment and hydrogen systems (training and PPE required)
- May involve standing, lifting moderate loads, and working in confined system enclosures
