Senior Staff TLM, Electrical Engineering – HPEIn this role, you will
- Lead an exceptional team of electrical engineers responsible for the development of electronics for LiDAR, Compute or a variety of hardware products
- Collaborate with numerous internal and external teams gathering requirements, defining HW architecture, modeling, and delivering LiDAR, Compute or a variety of hardware products that achieve performance and product metrics
- Guide and manage the team to build, integrate, test, and debug LiDAR, Compute or a variety of hardware products; leverage software tools and advanced test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
- Mature processes for electrical engineering product development that adhere to safety, execution and quality requirements
- Partner with mechanical, operations and validation teams to mature high‑quality electrical designs to manufacturing; including supporting test infrastructure development to meet product coverage and yield targets
- Leverage deep expertise in product development (define/build/test), and have extensive prior experience launching product
- Partner closely with program management to manage project deliverables
- Partner closely with supply chain and new product introduction to identify and qualify suppliers, parts and processes
- Plan and promote a forward‑looking outlook to hire and develop the team to meet future product roadmap
- This role requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering
- 10 years experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware
- 4 years direct personnel leadership of electrical engineering teams including hiring, establishing best practices, managing performance and growth
- Expertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high speed signaling, grounding, analog electronics
- High proficiency and ability to analyze systems for balancing electro‑mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints
- Extensive experience with hardware productization: system, board and chip level implementation
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to capture schematic designs, manage PCB layout, leverage Power/Signal simulation/emulation input
- Expertise with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and E‑loads)
- Experience with LiDAR, Compute or a variety of hardware products
- Knowledge of automotive requirements, safety framework (ISO
26262) and qualification processes - Experience with both rapid prototyping and design for manufacturing
- Programming and scripting (C, Python or equivalent) experience
- FPGA/ASIC design experience
Base salary range for this position is $-$315,000 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
