Job Description & Skill Requirement Key Responsibilities & Impact
Lead Design & Architecture:
Drive the design and development of critical Battery Management System hardware components for our Gen 6 aircraft.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Systems, Mechanical, Test, and Safety engineering teams to ensure a robust, integrated, and safe design from concept through implementation.
High-Stakes Problem Solving:
Leverage your hands‑on expertise to solve complex, safety‑critical system challenges in design, integration, and rigorous testing.
Lifecycle Management:
Plan and execute the design lifecycle, coordinating design, verification, and procurement to ensure on‑schedule delivery for our groundbreaking aircraft.
Strategic & Mentorship Role:
Contribute to architectural decisions, lead design reviews, define technical requirements, assist in strategic outsourcing, and participate in shaping the future of the team through new‑hire interviews.
Certification Excellence:
Support essential documentation and verification efforts crucial for the successful certification of the Gen 6 aircraft.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an M.S. with 6 years of experience.
Proven background in the aerospace or automotive industries, specializing in high-reliability, safety-critical systems.
Deep BMS Mastery:
Applied expertise in Battery Management Systems, High Voltage (HV) systems, and both analog and digital electronics.
PCB/PCBA Design Proficiency:
Extensive experience with PCBA design tools for schematic capture and layout, preferably with the Altium design suite.
Embedded Systems Expertise:
Hands‑on experience implementing microprocessor, microcontrollers, and FPGAs at the hardware, software, and firmware levels.
Solid understanding of embedded systems concepts, including interconnect, sensor, and power conversion board design.
Bonus
Experience:
Familiarity with rigorous aerospace development, verification, and documentation standards such as DO-254 and DO-160G.
A Unique Challenge:
Work on a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market.
Onsite Work:
This role will be an onsite (5 days a week) position in our Mountain View Headquarter
