LTA Research and Exploration, an aerospace start‑up, is seeking an Avionics Technician specializing in systems integration on research and development flight vehicles. This role involves working directly with company personnel to organize, plan, and execute troubleshooting, installation, and inspections of various subsystems, and to provide flight operational support as required.
Responsibilities- Four years’ experience in an avionics/electrical career field or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two years of aviation experience.
- Removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, terminations, ring‑out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems.
- Installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect‑free system.
- Troubleshoots processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
- Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity.
- Sets up necessary test equipment and conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Documents all work performed on the aircraft and ensures it is ready for inspection.
- Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, 6‑S program, and all safety regulations.
- Minimum 2 years, preferred 5+ years of avionics experience.
- Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience on electrical wiring harnesses.
- Previous cockpit avionics retrofit experience.
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical, ESC, BMS, and batteries.
- Previous experience managing installation teams.
- Compliant with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient in using tools such as multimeters, crimpers, high voltage testers, calibrated tools, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and other hand tools.
- Proficient in operating man lifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and maintenance platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Sheets) and other basic technology.
- Ability to obtain a DOT driver license.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Background check clearance.
- Drug test clearance where applicable.

$35 - $52 an hour – base range determined by experience, geography, and qualifications. A competitive annual bonus, 401(k) match, and other benefits supplement the base rate.
