Quality Engineer

Overview

Wisk is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Enterprise Quality & Safety team at our Mountain View, CA manufacturing site. The role is responsible for integrating quality into the design and production of autonomous, all‑electric aircraft, defining and maintaining quality standards for flight‑critical hardware, and driving systemic improvements in manufacturing and inspection processes.

• Serve as the primary interface for propulsion and machine shops, ensuring all activities align with the QMS.
• Partner with Integrated Product Teams to establish, implement, and enforce quality requirements and tools throughout the eVTOL lifecycle.
• Define and maintain quality standards required for flight‑critical hardware, driving continuous improvement in manufacturing and inspection.
• Lead complex problem‑solving activities through RCCA, applying 5‑Why and Ishikawa diagram methodologies to optimize inspection techniques and streamline production.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive QMS implementation, lead Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and manage other critical quality processes.
• Ensure all manufacturing and engineering activities comply with FAA regulatory requirements and certification standards.
• Manage data‑driven quality systems using Google Workspace, Power BI, and the Atlassian suite, guiding decision making through data analytics.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
• Minimum 2+ years of Quality or Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace, automotive, or safety‑critical sectors.
• Experience with metallic and composite components and validating flight hardware inspectability using metrology tools such as CMM machines and laser trackers.
• Ability to interpret and critique design drawings, process specifications, and autoclave reports to ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices.
• Strong applied knowledge of manufacturing practices, product development, quality systems, and tools.
• Participation and leadership in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes using industry‑standard methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5‑Whys).
• Desired: 5+ years of quality engineering experience, ideally in aviation; 1‑2 years with sub‑assemblies and AS9100 manufacturing/quality standards; ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent.

  Experience using the Atlassian suite, specifically Jira for issue tracking and Confluence for documentation management.

Full‑time, on‑site at Wisk HQ in Mountain View, CA. Salary range: $92,000–$113,000 per year, based on location and experience.
