Prototype Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a hands‑on, multi‑faceted Senior to Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Powertrain and Propulsion R&D team.

• Design, build, and test mechanical and electromechanical components and structures.
• Create, run, and post‑process basic stress and thermal analysis simulations.
• Create and release 2D mechanical design drawings.
• Perform analysis using first‑principles techniques to validate mechanical and thermal aspects of the design.
• Make design considerations for mass optimization, structural integrity, thermal considerations, and risk mitigation.
• Manage and track CGs and weights for components installed on an aircraft.

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of testing experience.
• Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, structural mechanics, etc.).
• Familiarity with CAD software such as Siemens NX (preferred), Solid Works, etc.
• Familiarity with MATLAB or Python for data regression.
• Familiarity with drafting standards, including GD&T, and ability to interpret or create engineering drawings.

Onsite at the Mountain View location.

• Full‑time.
• Salary range: $148,000 – $186,000 per year (based on location and experience).
