The purpose of an Assistant Chief Engineer within El Camino Hospital is to coordinate the activities of Facilities Engineering Teams and of contractors who operate and maintain the building systems and equipment that exist in the healthcare environment.

Coordinate, schedule, and supervise the work of Facilities Engineering Teams and contractors to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of building systems.

• Successful completion of a four‑year apprenticeship in facilities engineering, or a minimum of six years equivalent experience performing the duties of a stationary engineer in a complex facility or environment.
• Ability to schedule, coordinate, and organize the work of others.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Salary Range: $83.87 - $83.87 USD Hour.

Medium work requiring standing for the majority of the shift, ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently, and involve sitting, kneeling, climbing, and squatting.
