Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Sharpa, we manufacture time by making robots useful.

Founded in 2024, Sharpa is an AI robotics company inspired by the Sherpa people of the Himalayas - known for guiding and assisting alpinists on their difficult journey to the summit. We build general purpose robots that assist, not replace, humans - freeing people from repetitive and strenuous work so they can pursue inspiring endeavors.

Our team is made up of geeks and innovators with backgrounds at leading AI and robotics companies. We are dedicated to developing ultra-high performance, autonomous robotic systems capable of adapting to the complexity of real world environments. Sharpa operates out of Singapore, Shanghai and Mountain View.

You will be supporting the assembly, testing, repair, and field readiness of our robotic products, including dexterous hands and robotic systems. This is a hands-on role supporting product maintenance, demonstrations, rework operations, and day-to-day engineering activities.

What you'll be doing:
  • Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of robotic products at the U.S. office and customer or project locations, as required.
  • Support product assembly, testing, inspection, and fault diagnosis to ensure product quality and operational readiness.
  • Partner with China-based engineering teams on failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate service records, test data, issue logs, repair documentation, and workstation records.
  • Support product demonstrations, including system setup, testing, verification, and issue resolution.
  • Assist Application Engineers with routine operational activities, including equipment preparation, shipping and logistics coordination, and on-site support.
  • Assist with the setup and upkeep of the rework area, repair room, and related office equipment and inventory.
  • Use 3D design software to support basic drawings, engineering documentation, and other technical tasks.
What we're looking for:
  • Associate degree, diploma, or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or a related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in precision assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or repair of mechanical, electromechanical, or robotic products.
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work carefully with detailed technical tasks.
  • Comfortable using standard office tools to prepare test reports, organize data, and maintain clear documentation.
  • Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively with global-based teams and customers.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the United States and internationally, as business needs require.
  • Valid authorization to travel to and work in the United States is required.
