A lovely family near the Ranch 99 Supermarket in Mountain View is seeking an occasional driver to support their easy-going 73-year-old mother, with an immediate start. The client speaks Chinese only, and the family is looking for a candidate who can translate between English and Chinese. Driving support is needed approximately once per month to transport the client to medical appointments within a 15-mile radius.

The family is open to candidates with any weekday availability between 9am and 5pm for shifts lasting at least three hours. The driver will pick the client up from her apartment in Mountain View and accompany her to the appointments. The family can provide 1–2 weeks’ notice prior to needing care. Please note this is not a full-time position, and hours are not guaranteed

• Start date: Immediate
• Length of Position: Ongoing
• Schedule: 3 hour shifts (weekdays between 9am and 5pm)
• Compensation: $30-$35 per hour

• Driving the client to and from medical appointments
• Attending appointments and taking notes to share with the family
• Assisting the client with forms and paperwork related to appointments
• Communicating with receptionists and medical providers, including translating between English and Chinese

• At least 1 year of paid, professional driving experience, preferably with seniors
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and valid auto insurance
• Reliable vehicle for transporting the client
• Able to provide 2 related references (driving and/or caregiving)
• Ability to speak and write both English and Chinese (translation required)

This position pays $30-$35 per hour, and the family is looking for intermittent care, as needed.
