Job Description
Coordinates activities of the hospital-wide Point-of-Care testing program for bedside laboratory testing and ensures compliance of all hospital personnel with program standards. This includes, but is not limited to, QA review, instrument set-up and validation, calibration verification, linearity testing, new lot reagent verification, maintenance, troubleshooting, training of designated nursing personnel, inventory control, quality control, proficiency testing and participation in on-site inspections.
Fosters teamwork in doing whatever is necessary to maintain a smooth running POCT program. Ensures compliance with enterprise POCT program.
- Baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory science, or equivalent field of study.
- Prior experience in Point of Care Testing preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 4-5 years experience as a CLS in an acute care hospital setting.
- Familiar with regulatory compliance and College of American Pathologists laboratory standards.
- Basic knowledge of performance improvement, education, and training principles.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and equipment evaluation.
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
- ASCP certification recommended.
$63.65 - $95.48 USD per hour.
Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsSedentary work — duties performed mostly while sitting; walking and standing asionally lift or carry up to 10 lbs. Uses hands and fingers.
