JOB SUMMARY
Backstage Hospitality Chef – responsible for preparing and serving catering backstage to artists and crew during live events, ensuring high-quality food, compliance with rider specifications, and seamless service in a fast‑paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Execute backstage catering for artists and crew, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, specialty diets, and rider‑specific requests.
- Prepare high‑quality main dishes, appetizers, desserts, and specialty snacks with attention to presentation and dietary requirements.
- Review artist riders in advance and ensure all culinary needs are met accurately and professionally.
- Develop prep lists and production timelines aligned with show schedules and load‑in times.
- Maintain all‑day snack and beverage areas per Live Nation hospitality standards.
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, freshness, and waste control.
- Maintain strict compliance with health department regulations and Live Nation safety standards.
- Lead kitchen opening and closing procedures at venues.
- Collaborate with Backstage Director and Hospitality Supervisors to execute seamless show‑day operations.
- Adapt quickly to last‑minute changes common in live event environments.
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in high‑volume catering, hospitality, hotel, or event environments.
- Experience working with specialty diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten‑free, allergy‑sensitive menus).
- Strong understanding of buffet execution, family meal service, and elevated backstage hospitality standards.
- Hands‑on experience with commercial kitchen equipment.
- Current Food Handler’s Card and thorough knowledge of sanitation regulations.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to execute against tight show‑day timelines.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions‑oriented under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in fast‑moving environments.
- Ability to take direction while working independently with accountability.
- High attention to detail and commitment to presentation standards.
- Thrives in a dynamic, ever‑changing live entertainment environment.
- Understands that artist hospitality requires discretion, flexibility, and elevated service.
- Brings creativity while respecting rider requirements.
- Takes ownership of kitchen operations and supports a positive team culture.
This is a regional role supporting multiple venues across Northern California. Travel between venues is required.
