Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana is hiring a Host. In this role, you set the tone from the moment guests arrive, helping create a warm, polished first impression.

• Greet and welcome guests in person and on the phone
• Manage reservations, seating, and quoted wait times with speed and accuracy
• Plan and organize dining room seating for the shift
• Share restaurant information clearly and courteously
• Communicate smoothly with guests and the team to control seating flow and support guest satisfaction

You’ll start by getting oriented on the reservations and expected pace, then you’ll spend the shift moving between the front door, the phone, and the host stand. As parties arrive, you’ll keep a steady rhythm - updating wait quotes, adjusting the seating plan as tables turn, and staying in sync with the dining room so service feels smooth. Busy stretches call for calm focus and quick judgment, while slower moments are a chance to reset, tidy the entry area, and prepare for the next wave of guests.
