Job Description

This role will be based in Mountain View, CA. At Linked In, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a Linked In office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Technical Program Management to join our Online Infrastructure TPM organization. In this role, you will lead and develop a team of Technical Program Managers while partnering closely with senior technical leaders to define, prioritize, and drive complex infrastructure portfolios. You will establish and evolve program management governance, execution frameworks, and operating rhythms that enable successful delivery across large, cross‑functional infrastructure teams.

The Online Infrastructure TPM team drives large‑scale modernization and migration initiatives across Linked In’s advanced infrastructure, including in‑house data storage and analytics systems, entity management platforms, query and serving layers, and experimentation platforms. The broader Online Infrastructure organization is responsible for building Linked In’s next‑generation platforms—spanning application and service delivery, compute, massively scalable storage and replication systems, search, AI/ML platforms, experimentation, and privacy and compliance.

In this role, you will work alongside some of the best engineers in the industry, applying deep systems thinking and technical judgment across distributed systems, APIs, and large‑scale platform architectures. Linked In has pioneered and continues to maintain industry‑leading open‑source technologies such as Apache Kafka, Pinot, Samza, Azkaban, Venice, Data Hub, and others, while also leveraging industry standards like Kubernetes, gRPC, and Graph

QL. You will help shape programs that operate at extreme scale while contributing to technology that impacts millions of people globally.

At this level, the ideal candidate can clearly articulate complex tradeoffs, dependencies, and interactions that influence program outcomes and coach the team to do the same. You bring a strong balance of people leadership, organizational rigor, and technical depth, and you are effective in driving alignment and execution in highly matrixed environments where authority is not assumed. Success in this role requires demonstrated experience leading teams and large programs, influencing across organizational boundaries, and consistently delivering high‑impact results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Online Infra TPM team and manage the right mix of projects and programs in the portfolio.
  • Manage TPM assignment and allocation and ensure portfolio and project health through appropriate resource allocation, prioritization and focus.
  • Develop product strategies, roadmaps and resource plans with leadership.
  • Partner with Sr. Director/VP level leadership on project execution and team efficiency.
  • Interact one-to-one with individual technical contributors, senior leaders, as well as coaching teams.
  • Evaluate, champion and drive adoption of Agile methodologies throughout the team, where applicable.
  • Help teams be more efficient, and see the big picture and ensure processes scale appropriately with the company.
  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation, and learning.
  • Manage and maintain project backlogs and ensure forward momentum with project execution.
  • Leads efforts to resolve…
