Solutions Architect II – Amazon Web Services, Inc. – Mountain View, California

Multiple positions available. 40 hours per week (8:00 am – 5:00 pm). Salary range: $190,819 /year to $204,300 /year. • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.
• Analyze application portfolios, identify dependencies and common infrastructure platform components, and assess migration feasibility.
• Architect hybrid AWS and on‑premises solutions.
• Guide customers on architecture choices and inform them of best practices to adopt AWS efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Ensure success in building, migrating, and deploying applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Brief the senior executive team on customer progress in adopting AWS and define future platform requirements for onboarding and migration.
• Author AWS customer‑facing publications such as whitepapers and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community.
• Engage with developers, system administrators, software architects, project managers, directors, and C‑level customers to define cloud strategies and deployments.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and ensure that solutions are designed for successful deployment on AWS.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Database Administrator, Support Engineer, or a related occupation.

• Alternative:
  Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields and five years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation, equivalent to the master’s degree requirement.
• Must have one year of experience in:
  • Designing, implementing, and consulting with distributed applications.
  • Architecting, provisioning, and deploying applications to public cloud or on‑premises virtualized environments using C++, Perl, Python, Java, Ruby, Node.js, or an equivalent object‑oriented programming language.
  • Database architecture, performance tuning, big‑data processing, mobile app development, or Big Data/Hadoop.
• Domestic and/or international travel up to 50% may be required.
