Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS Cloud Front) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.

• Own the technical engagement and ensure the ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and a broad understanding of how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while working with a world‑class sales and business development team.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
• Collaborate with and educate other technical experts, fostering continuous learning and improvement.

• Helping customers design and create cloud computing architectures.
• Engaging in deep‑diving technical discussions around design and maintaining an intellectual curiosity to keep technical skills current.
• Traveling up to 30%.

• 8+ years of experience in technology domain areas such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.

• Master's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent; or extensive experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, Sage Maker, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, and EC2.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent; or experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
• Knowledge of compliance and security standards across the enterprise IT landscape.
• 6+ years of cross‑functional collaboration across several teams.
• 2+ years of experience in data center or mission‑critical facilities (e.g., hospital, military, public safety).

Mountain View, CA – $176,600 – $239,000 USD annually.

Santa Clara, CA – $176,600 – $239,000 USD annually.

San Francisco, CA – $176,600 – $239,000 USD annually.

The base salary range for this position is $176,600–$239,000 USD annually, varying by location. The Amazon package includes sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and additional health and well‑being programs.
