Position: Responsible AI Engineer

About the Role

Accenture’s Global Responsible AI team within the Global Data & AI Practice is working to integrate responsibility into all AI activities. The team develops and deploys responsible AI solutions, engages regulators, conducts research with academia, and provides training through the Responsible AI Academy. AI is becoming more pervasive, more powerful, and more accessible, and with these opportunities come increased risks that we manage by ensuring models are fair, transparent, robust, sound, and privacy‑respecting.

We are looking for an experienced Responsible AI Engineer to help solve complex business challenges with state‑of‑the‑art AI systems and to manage the responsible aspects of those systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement AI models and solutions, focusing on ethical and responsible practices.
  • Detect, evaluate, and apply relevant responsible AI dimensions—bias, fairness, robustness, explainability—in AI systems, and mitigate identified risks.
  • Support client sales conversations and proposal preparation.
  • Optimize and maintain existing AI systems for enhanced performance and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Participate in the complete AI development lifecycle, including data preparation, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Contribute to internal guidelines, best practices for responsible AI development, and technical training.
  • Stay updated on current AI trends, ethical considerations, and technological advancements.
  • Assist in identifying and correcting biases in datasets and AI models.
  • Document AI development processes and maintain a transparent record of decisions and methodologies.
Travel

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 % to 100 % depending on business need and client requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related technical fields, or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years); if possessing an Associate’s Degree, minimum 6 years of work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and evaluating machine learning models and AI solutions, with at least 2 years in one of the following areas:
    Statistics and Probability Theory, Regression Modelling, Clustering Methods, Time Series Forecasting, Tree Ensembles;
    Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Generative AI;
    Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, Computer Vision, Image Recognition;
    Machine Learning Visualization Tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in: programming languages such as Python, R, or Java; AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit‑learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch); rapid API development with Django, Flask, or FastAPI; version control practices and platforms (e.g., Git Hub, Bitbucket); database management and data processing; cloud services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud); working with complex datasets and performing data preprocessing and analysis.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Commitment to ethical AI development and continuous learning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
Preferred Bonus Experience
  • Managerial experience leading teams.
  • Experience with big data technologies and tools such as Hadoop or Spark.
