- 6 years of experience in an applied research setting (e.g., product or academic), or similar.
- Experience with research methods (e.g., usability, studies, contextual inquiries, 1:1 interviews, unmoderated research studies).
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- Experience with large-scale surveys design and analysis.
- Experience working with educational products.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent people management, communication, and collaboration skills.
As a Senior User Experience Researcher on the LearnX team, you will lead research to identify product opportunities for learners across Gemini, NotebookLM, Labs, and You Tube. Your work will advance GenAI investments for students and guide the user experience.
You will play a critical role in helping your team understand user needs and drive impact at all stages of product development, ensuring products are useful, usable, and helpful. You will explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research, including field studies, interviews, diary studies, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You will also grow within a supportive UXR community offering mentorship, regular meetups, and exclusive internal tools.
Drive an impactful research agenda focused on LearnX's new product initiatives.
Identify emerging product opportunities by understanding user needs and the competitive landscape to help teams achieve product‑market fit.
Lead a continuous research program that provides foundational and iterative insights to product innovation teams.
Partner with designers, product managers, engineers, and other teams to inform product decisions, and assist in organizing research events and design sprints.
Leverage storytelling to communicate research findings and advocate for a user-focused perspective in product discussions and strategic planning.
CompensationUS: $159,000 - $231,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.
