AI Engineer (Applied/Software), IT Project Manager
Position Summary
Samsung Ads Engineering is seeking a Sr. Director, AI Experience (AIX), Developer. The role leads three complementary disciplines—AI Experience, Developer Experience, and Site Reliability Engineering—to raise productivity across our Service Business Teams organization.
Role and ResponsibilitiesWhy This Role Exists
AI can generate code in minutes, but shipping software still takes too long because friction remains. This role attacks friction on three fronts: deploying AI broadly, removing developer‑specific friction, and building reliability posture.
What Makes This Role Unique
This role requires fluency across the three disciplines, organizational maturity to run each, and the ability to maintain a coherent story for leadership. It involves stakeholder collaboration, translating impact into business language, and driving coalitions.

- Measure AIX impact in business terms: time recovered, toil eliminated, adoption rate, and business outcomes enabled across SBT functions.
- Lead a listening‑first approach to Dev Ex, regularly engaging with developers to surface friction.
- Identify and eliminate friction across feedback loops, flow state, and cognitive load.
- Prioritize low‑lift, high‑impact improvements over new tools.
- Define and champion golden paths for standardized developer workflows.
- Treat developer experience as a product, continuously measuring and iterating.
- Spot warning signs of excessive friction such as broken builds and flaky tests.
- Instrument and monitor AI tool impact on developer workflows.
- Invest in platform engineering foundations for Dev Ex.
- Establish and maintain SLOs/SLAs across critical services.
- Lead the observability strategy with instrumentation, dashboards, and alerting.
- Champion production resilience through chaos engineering, capacity planning, incident management, and business continuity.
- Partner with engineering teams to embed reliability practices into development workflows.
- Manage and continuously improve on‑call practices and post‑incident review processes.
- Establish a Dev Ex measurement practice using SPACE, DORA, and DXI frameworks.
- Extend the SPACE framework with Trust for AI‑augmented development.
- Track and report on AI‑specific metrics alongside delivery metrics.

- Frame metrics for different audiences.
- Build compelling narratives for leadership.
- Act as primary liaison between engineering, platform, product, and business teams.
- Sell initiatives, plan communications, and manage organizational change.
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights.
- Design and deliver enablement programs, training, and documentation.
- Define an integrated strategy and roadmap across AIX, Dev Ex, and SRE.
- Apply a structured improvement methodology, secure leadership buy‑in, and communicate wins.
- Navigate the J‑curve of Dev Ex improvement.
