About the job

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you make this possible. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to gather insights and create industry-leading products. You’ll play a critical role in helping your team understand user needs and will drive impact at all stages of product development, ensuring products are useful, usable, and helpful.

You will explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research, including field studies, interviews, diary studies, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You will also grow within a supportive UXR community offering mentorship, regular meetups, and exclusive internal tools. We are looking for a Mixed-Methods UX Researcher with a strong leaning towards quantitative research, complemented by solid qualitative skills.

In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping our understanding of users across the entire user lifecycle and within the app’s foundational experience to drive growth strategies for Search. You will design and execute research that uncovers opportunities for growth, measures the impact of our initiatives, and provides deep insights into user needs and pain points. A key aspect of this role is the ability to think at a systems level, understanding how different parts of the app ecosystem and growth strategies interact.

To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you’ll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.
