Computer Numerical Control Machinist

Job Location: Mountain View, CA [Onsite]

Job Type: Long-Term-Contract

• CNC programming, setup & machine operation. Majority of the activity in workshop should be in CNC-Milling (80% of CNC activity), that includes programming (G-Code)
• Hands‑on workshop / shop‑floor experience (8–10 years)
• Experience with 5‑axis CNC-Milling
• Exposure to milling, drilling, welding, cutting, waterjet
• Ability to work independently in workshop environment

• Fabricating parts with CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC routers, manual machine equipment, lasers, 3D Printers and waterjet
• Capable of producing parts with ±0.020mm or tighter tolerances
• Read schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine methods of manufacturing and assembly
• Recognize the need and develop, design and build appropriate tooling and fixtures
• Gather and prepare tools and materials required to complete projects
• Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects on tight timelines
• Maintain machine shop and fabrication equipment
• Proactively maintain supplies of hardware components, equipment, etc. to customer expectations. Highlight all potential shortages and proactively work to ensure minimal interruption
• Assembly of precision electro/mechanical systems including tight tolerance mechanical assemblies
• Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and appropriate shop tools
• Cover all aspects of a project's requirements from conceptual design, 3D CAD, drafting, fabrication to assembly
• Have a firm understanding of a variety of materials and their properties
• Utilize this knowledge to make informed decisions on materials to use for components
