We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the precise synthesis and measurement of materials essential to our daily operations. You will work under the guidance of Scientists and/or Engineers to ensure that all experimental and production inputs meet our rigorous standards for quality and accuracy.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Material synthesis:
Weigh precursors, run synthesis equipment including bead mills, spray dryers, and furnaces, and clean and maintain equipment

Materials characterization :
Measure key materials properties using techniques such as X-ray diffraction, SEM, and press density and clean sample holders

Battery fabrication: build batteries to qualify materials

Data documentation:
Maintain clear, organized records of all precursor weights, process parameters, and measurements in the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

Safety & Compliance:
Adhere strictly to safety protocols (PPE, chemical handling, and waste disposal) and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Lab Operations and Maintenance :
Participate in reporting issues and maintaining equipment, stocking consumables, and keeping the lab orderly. Clean laboratory glassware and tools.

Qualifications:

Experience working in characterization or materials synthesis laboratory or similar industrial environments

Clear written and verbal communication

Congenial and friendly relationship with coworkers

Basic computer skills including using email, creating and editing spreadsheets and documents in G-Suite and MS Office

Ability to lift, squat, kneel, use step ladders, manipulate hand and power tools

May be required to wear hearing protection and if respiratory protection is needed then the applicant may be required to maintain facial hair compatible with a tight fitting respirator.

Experience & Technical

Skills:

Demonstrated experience in carefully weighing and measuring materials using balances and other laboratory equipment

High degree of accuracy in performing repetitive tasks and handling small quantities of material

Ability to document procedures and results clearly and concisely

Strong grasp of basic lab mathematics, including dilutions and metric unit conversions.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

The estimated base hourly range for this role is $30.00 -$45.00.

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus and equity plan
