Overview
Job Title:
Nurse Navigator (RN) – Oncology
Location: Mountain View, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-Time
Compensation: $124,000 – $150,000 Annually (DOE)
Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization to identify an experienced Oncology Nurse Navigator (RN). This role plays a critical part in guiding patients through their cancer care journey by providing clinical coordination, education, advocacy, and emotional support.
The Nurse Navigator serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and care teams to ensure seamless, high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage patient care across the oncology treatment continuum
- Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families
- Perform clinical triage and nursing consultations within scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians, infusion teams, and support staff
- Assist patients in navigating healthcare systems and community resources
- Monitor treatment progress and address care barriers
- Advocate for patient needs and treatment preferences
- Promote patient safety and quality outcomes
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and regulatory standards
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required
Certifications (Required/Preferred)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification
- ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient/ambulatory nursing experience
- Prior oncology and/or infusion therapy experience strongly preferred
- Experience with care coordination and patient navigation
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage complex patient cases
- High level of organization and time management
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Knowledge of oncology protocols and treatment pathways
- Demonstrated patient advocacy skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
- Strong teaching and patient education capabilities
Work Environment Requirements
- Primarily sedentary role with extended computer use
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (
