Research Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate
Job Description
AMA is currently accepting applications for a short term (4 week) summer internship position associated with the Aerothermodynamics branch in the Entry Systems Division at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. The successful candidate will perform uncertainty quantification using Bayesian inference techniques using shock tube data for trajectory estimation.
The pay rate for this position will be $29.50-$33.50 per hour and is commensurate with experience and education.
Responsibilities- Perform research on assigned topic for period of 4 weeks
- Regular reporting (verbal and/or written) to research mentor on progress of project
- Present final results to division at completion of project
- Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited university are highly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Progress toward a degree (Undergraduate or graduate) in technical areas of relevance to entry systems
- Only candidates currently authorized to work in the US will be accepted (no visa sponsorship)
