Research Assistant/Associate
AMA is currently accepting applications for a short‑term (4‑week) summer internship position associated with the Aerothermodynamics branch in the Entry Systems Division at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. The successful candidate will perform uncertainty quantification using Bayesian inference techniques with shock‑tube data for trajectory estimation.
Pay: $29.50 – $33.50 per hour, commensurate with experience and education.
Responsibilities- Perform research on the assigned topic over a period of 4 weeks.
- Regularly report progress (verbal and/or written) to the research mentor.
- Present final results to the division at completion of the project.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university; undergraduate or graduate students are highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Progress toward a degree in a technical area relevant to entry systems.
- Only candidates authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship will be considered.
- Foreign nationals from NASA’s designated country list are not eligible.
