Sales Manager Retail - BMW Mountain View

Position Overview

The Sales Manager leads a sales team to create an exceptional experience for customers, selecting, training, coaching, developing, and retaining top Sales Associates and driving high performance to increase market share, achieve unit sales and profit margins, and delight customers.

• Lead and support the sales team in alignment with Auto Nation’s Vision and Mission
• Set a clear vision and goals for new and used vehicle sales and profit
• Engage and motivate the team to meet key performance goals and Auto Nation best‑practice processes
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations and maintain high levels of participation
• Manage the negotiation process with Sales Associates, ensuring customers understand vehicle purchase options and pricing
• Appraise vehicles for trade‑ins
• Manage customer traffic across Showroom, E‑Commerce, and Phone channels
• Partner with the General Manager or General Sales Manager for inventory planning and management
• Assist in controlling expenses for New and Used Vehicle Departments
• Analyze business data to identify shortfalls and develop action plans to improve performance

• Targeted unit sales and gross profit

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven success in auto retail sales
• Proven leadership ability to mentor and train others
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals
• Ability to drive an exceptional customer experience
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational and follow‑up skills
• Experience and desire to work with technology
• Valid in‑state driver’s license and a safe driving record

• Commission role with an average monthly income of $5–18k
