, one of the largest and most effective nonprofits working to end homelessness in the Bay Area, is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator for our Montecito program in Mountain View, CA.
The Role
The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for providing housing stabilization services to households who are homeless and/or low-income. This includes counseling, referral to financial/credit counseling, referral to legal services, and developing individualized housing plans that lead to permanent housing stability. The role also involves coordinating services to connect participants with other necessary supportive services.
Responsibilities- Develop a community calendar of educational, recreational, and civic engagement activities and events.
- Collaborate with local service providers and community agencies; maintain positive neighborhood relations.
- Work with property management to foster a sense of ownership and build community among residents.
- Assist residents in retaining housing and maximizing self‑sufficiency by linking them to services such as crisis intervention, rehabilitation, income support, benefits acquisition, employment assistance, health care, substance recovery, and family involvement.
- Provide referrals for further assessment or treatment in areas such as developmental or learning disabilities, behavioral issues, school readiness, family violence, or substance abuse.
- Offer crisis intervention when needed and requested by property management or participants.
- Maintain comprehensive case files and prepare and submit all required programmatic reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1 year of case‑management experience providing services to homeless or low‑income individuals and/or families.
- Valid California driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a clean DMV record; personal vehicle use is required.
- Ability to provide transportation for participants when necessary.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
- Experience using data‑collection software for documentation and reporting.
- Initiative, flexibility, self‑motivation, and capacity to handle stressful situations.
- Experience with community networking and resource building.
- Basic knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business‑related applications.
- High emotional intelligence, cultural humility, and a proven track record of building effective relationships.
- Hourly pay: $28.85‑$30.50
