Senior Software Engineer, AI Authoring

The opportunity

From intelligent authoring tools to new ways of interacting with content, we’re building the next generation of pipelines that enable faster, more immersive, and more efficient 3D game development. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Authoring quality team.

You will focus on the AI agent development, actively contributing to code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions. This is an unique opportunity to help shape how developers interact with AI-powered workflows in the Unity ecosystem, guiding both the technical direction and the team culture of a product at the heart of Unity’s next-generation developer experience.

• Design and implement sustainable, scalable solutions for Unity AI Products. Push the boundary of our AI agent with cutting-edge AI Agent technologies.
• Drive engineering excellence through software design, coding standards, and scalable architecture.
• Contribute to high-level technical strategy and architectural discussions of Unity AI and wider Unity Products.
• Make balanced technical decisions, aligning short-term delivery needs with long-term product health.
• Partner closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to define and deliver the product roadmap.
• Facilitate collaboration across the broader Unity AI and Editor organizations.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, Go, etc.).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• Experience building and shipping complex, user-facing software products at scale
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and organizations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to translate business and user needs into technical solutions
• Familiarity with building and maintaining production systems.

• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, natural language processing, or conversational AI
• Experience building and deploying AI systems in production
• Experience building and shipping a game
