Senior Cloud Engineer

A glimpse into Ciitizen - we empower patients to frictionlessly collect and share all their health information as machine-computable data, with humans for clinical treatment and with machines and researchers through data donations. Including clinical, genomic, and imaging, plus patient-reported outcomes. We're mission driven to help society get the most from a challenging healthcare system.

We are looking for a senior cloud/infrastructure engineer who has strong expertise in cloud/infrastructure engineering and Dev Ops, and has built high-performance, scalable and extensible systems.

YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO

• Evangelize software development and Dev Ops best practices and mentor engineers on the team.
• Write great code, create architectures, design components, and deliver robust high-volume production cloud based platform.
• Rapidly drive a project from a simple idea to prototype to an implementation.
• Provide thought leadership for building Ciitizen's cloud platform to be used by millions of patients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and business teams to build and deploy the platform.

YOU HAVE 10+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IN

• Leading small, agile teams with the ability to work across the lifecycle and mentor others.
• Building full stack cloud services (AWS/ Google Cloud) including Dev Ops experience (DNS/load balancing, security, firewalls, etc.).
• Strong understanding of the following web technologies (HTTP, AJAX, JSON, CSS, REST APIs, etc.).
• Experience with relational and No
  
  SQL databases (i.e. Cassandra, Mongo
  
  DB, etc.), deployment and orchestration technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes), distributed storage (i.e. Hadoop, S3) and system monitoring tools (i.e. Splunk).
• Development in Java, Java script (MVC frameworks like Angular/ Ember), Node.js, Java, C, C++, Unix/Linux and mobile platforms (e.g. Android, iOS).
• Proficient with at least one shell and high level scripting language (Bash, Perl, Python).
• Understanding of open source server software and ability to integrate with commercial technologies to build a cloud platform.

• BA/BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent.
