Software Engineer III, Google Play, AI Game Assistant

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 1 year of experience building and deploying recommendation systems models (retrieval, prediction, ranking, personalization, search quality, embedding) in production.
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

As a software engineer in the Android & Mobile team, you will work on a project critical to Google’s needs and have opportunities to switch teams. You will help users find great mobile games and create compelling AI-powered experiences in the Google Play Store.

Our team’s goal is to help users find great mobile games and enhance the Google Play experience with AI. Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps, and games for devices, powered by cloud services.

Compensation

US base salary range: $147,000–$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary determined by role, level, location, and experience. Additional benefits details are available on Google’s website.

Responsibilities
  • Write product or system development code.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain code quality.
  • Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it based on product and program changes.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve problems affecting hardware, network, or service operations.
  • Build and deploy recommendation systems models, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
