About the role
We are seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to scale our data collection, monitoring, and vehicle infrastructure to support our growing fleet of autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our platform and autonomy teams to design and deliver infrastructure solutions that directly impact autonomy software development, issue triage, and deployment of AVs to new customer sites. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your work will enable reliable data pipelines, scalable CI systems, and efficient deployments to production environments.
This role is onsite 5 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!
What you'll do- Build and maintain ETL pipelines for ingestion, aggregation, and presentation of data from our fleet of live autonomous trucks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Design and implement solutions for upgrading and deploying on‑board vehicle infrastructure and AV stack software to production vehicles with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with autonomy and platform teams to deliver scalable CI pipelines that automate the development, testing, and release of AV software.
- Implement infrastructure‑as‑code solutions (e.g., Terraform) to manage setup and teardown of environments supporting operations at customer‑facing sites.
- Work with operations teams to coordinate and execute deployments to new customer sites.
- Develop and manage scalable deployment of in‑house simulation software, integrating scenario‑based simulation testing into CI pipelines to validate AV software before release.
- 7+ years of experience in a similar infrastructure engineering role.
- Proficiency with Terraform or similar infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Hands‑on experience with Docker and related tools (e.g., Docker Compose, Kaniko).
- Experience deploying to Kubernetes and managing packages via Helm.
- Knowledge of relational and time‑series databases (e.g., Postgres, Timescale DB, InfluxDB).
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Argo, Airflow).
- Proven track record managing upgrades and rollbacks of customer‑facing SaaS environments.
- Scripting expertise in Python and Bash.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Working knowledge of CI/CD solutions such as Git Lab CI or Jenkins is a plus.
Salary Range - $180,000- $260,000
