Software Engineer - R&D

Location:

Mountain View, CA (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Software Engineer for our R&D team at Commure, responsible for taking emerging technology from inception to impact. You will scout new capabilities (frontier LLMs, browser agents, self-improving agent harnesses) and product ionize them for healthcare. The full arc includes research, productization, delivery to customers, and ownership until graduation.

• Build infrastructure that orchestrates, evaluates, and runs sub-agents, including channel adapters for intelligence flow
• Work with cutting-edge technology: chain tool calls across LLMs, deploy browser agents, build self-improving harnesses, and turn prototypes into production tools
• Take technology from first principles to production: research, build into a product, ship to customers, and own through graduation
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, deployment, and observability
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and clinical experts to ship intuitive solutions for real clinical environments

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Professional software engineering experience (high-growth or startup environment preferred)
• Strong fullstack skills:
  Python (required) on backend, JavaScript/React on frontend, Docker and Kubernetes knowledge
• Hands‑on experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI‑powered features in production
• Track record of driving work from early ideation to successful production deployment
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills with demonstrated resourcefulness
• Strong communication skills – comfortable with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders (including clinical teams)
• Experience in fast‑moving environments where shipping quickly is the norm

$130K - $180K
