The Connect Telecom Engineering team provisions and maintains connectivity to global telecom carriers, manages backend telecom infrastructure, and troubleshoots customer issues related to telephony. The team owns the Session Border Controller (SBC) service used to route calls between Amazon Connect and telecom carriers, ensuring reliable delivery of voice services for millions of customer interactions worldwide.
ResponsibilitiesOwn code end-to-end from design to development, collaborating with technical leaders within the team and across AWS.
Apply fundamentals of computer science and practical experience across the stack with technologies including SIP/VoIP, modern web services, SOA, No
SQL databases, and distributed systems at scale.
Evaluate design decisions that make telecom systems secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available, and low latency.
Implement software solutions for carrier connectivity, call routing, and telecom infrastructure automation.
Improve operational excellence of the services owned by the team, including the SBC platform and carrier management systems.
Mentor others, participate in operations, design reviews, document reviews, and contribute to team and organizational goals.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new or existing systems
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
