- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of work experience in development, testing and deployment of consumer electronics/embedded systems.
- 3 years of experience in technical leadership.
- Experience in embedded systems, operating systems, and power processing.
- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with mobile phone SOCs and subsystems including CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem and wifi.
- Experience with optimizing software for power and performance improvements.
- Experience working with embedded processors, Android BSP, kernel, drivers.
- Knowledge of embedded software system design.
- Excellent communication skills.

The Pixel System Power team owns the battery life aspect of the Pixel system software, which is a problem that straddles both software and hardware domains. We work with teams spanning the entire software and hardware stack to define, prototype, optimize and bring to the consumer devices software solutions that deliver awesome battery life and user experiences.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $188000 - $275000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Drive power optimizations on mobile phone SOCs.
- Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC features and initiatives to improve power.
- Analyze and optimize the software across the key components of the SOC like CPU, GPU, memory subsystem and connectivity.
- Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption. Debug and resolve battery drain issues.
- Collaborate with Android and app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
