Senior Software Engineer

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile;

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

We are a team in the AI Innovation and Research (AIR) organization in Platforms and Devices (P&D), that focuses on developing Software Engineer (SWE) agents to revolutionize the way we develop software, significantly reducing the toil faced by developers within P&D (~25K) and all over the world (~6 million App developers and ~10 million web developers). The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware.

Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Researchers and Product teams across Alphabet (Deep Mind, Core, P&D teams) to build emerging AI capabilities and technologies for SWE Agents.
• Work in startup mode. Identify developer pain points and develop novel user experiences to address issues.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional/cross-product area (XFN/X-PA) partners to plan and prioritize projects.
• Cultivate a respectful, and collaborative team environment.
